CARDUUS MARIANUS

Carduus marianus is an ideal liver remedy. It has got its position next to the Chelidonium in liver complaints. It is also useful for the treatment of other disease secondary related to the liver problem.

The key symptoms of Carduus is pain in right hypochondriac region may extend to the right scapula. Dragging sensation to the right when lying to left so he avoids to lying down to left.

*** Liver disorder:

Carduus marianus one of the wonderful liver remedy comes after Chelidonium. Carduus produced enlargement of liver in transvers direction (Liver enlarge vertically in Chelidonium). In liver complaint patient cannot lying on left side because he feeling that someone dragging him to right. In case of cholelithiasis gallbladder become enlarged, inflamed with pain in right hypochondriac (right upper quadrant of abdomen) region may radiate to right scapula and going to back.

*** It also useful for splenomegaly, when the spleen become enlarged and piercing sensation is present.

*** Stomach disorder:

A Carduus patient also suffering from stomach disorder associated with liver problem. He may suffer from long continuous indigestion. Abdomen become distended with gases. Bitter taste in mouth and bad breath is coming out. Ascites is developed due to liver problem. Wants of appetite with nausea, retching and vomiting. Color of vomitus become dark brown and offensive. Bowel disorder also present with stomach complaints. Patient may suffer from altered bowel habit, onetime constipation and other time dysentery. Stool become hard, knotty and clay color during constipation.

*** Respiratory conditions:

Pleurisy and cough in lower lobe of the right lungs secondary to the liver disease is cured by Carduus. Here, pain is felt in right scapula.

*** Carduus has great tendency of bleeding, especially from nose. The character of nose bleed is, bleeding from nose with sensation of cold breeze over the head. Blood become dark in color.

*** Headache: Headache may start from forehead and then spread over the eyes and sensation as if eyes are big and pushed out from the eyeball. This symptom is also found in Belladonna.

*** Carduus also useful for the treatment of varicose vein. Vein become engorged and tendency to develop spider webs of blue color.

*** Carduus also useful for hip pain. Pain over the right buttock and the hip joint may spread to the thigh.

*** Carduus also useful for cramping pain of feet. Feet become swollen with crams of leg during walking. When this condition reached its advance stage even patient enable to walk a few steps may successively treated with Carduus.

*** Modalities: Carduus symptoms are aggravated in lying down left side, on motion, pressure.
