THERAPEUTIC LAW OF NATURE

Therapeutic law of nature is regard as universal therapeutic law & commonly expressed by three words “similia, similibus, curantur.”

          According to aphorism number 26 of ‘Organon of medicine’ therapeutic law is given below:

“A weaker dynamic affection is permanently extinguished in the living organism by a stronger one, if the later (whilst differing in kind) is very similar to the former in its manifestations.”

          That means, when two similar disease meet together & one is stronger than other while different in kind, stronger one repeals the actions of weaker due to their both similarity of actions.

         This universal law of cure first described by Dr. Hippocrates. This universal law is considered as therapeutic law of cure in homoeopathic system of treatment.

In 1738, in Denmark, about fifty years back of Dr. Hahnemann’s explanation of Homoeopathy Stahl understand about this law. Stahl expressed himself as follows: “The received method in medicine, of treating diseases by opposite remedies- that is to say, by medicines which are opposed to the effects they produce (contraria, contrariis)- is completely false and absurd. I am convinced, on the contraria, that diseases are subdued by agents which produce a similar affection (similia, similibus); burns by the heat of a fire to which the parts are exposed; the frost-bite by snow or icy-cold water; inflammation & contusions by spiritous applications. It is by these means I have succeeded in curing a disposition to acidity of the stomach by using very small doses of sulphuric acid, in cases where a multitude of absorbing powders had been administered to no purpose.”

Various examples of this universal law are present in nature, in our life and in disease aspect. Some of them is given below:

Physical aspect:

***Both Jupiter and sun gives light. Both affects the observer optic nerve to see it. But the power of sunlight is stronger than the power of Jupiter. So, on rising of sun the Jupiter is invisible.

***Any smells of odor affect the olfactory nerve. So, any offensive smell if present anywhere around us we can understand it due to sense of olfaction. If one puts a musk over his nose observer only perceives the smells of musk as it is stronger & nearer to him.

***The similar poles of magnet repel each other. So, a magnet that is much stronger in size repel & move away the similar poles of a smaller magnet when kept one next to other.

Moral aspect:

***One sorrow and sufferings are removes by hearing others anecdotes.

***The sorrow of losing one friends is less then the sorrow of losing one father or nearest relatives.   

***The injurious consequences of too great joy will be removed by drinking coffee, which produce excessive joyful state of mind.

Disease aspect:

In aphorism no 46 of ‘Organon of medicine’ Dr. Hahnemann gave several examples about similar treatment. Some observations are given bellow:

***Small-pox may causes several complications like, deafness, dyspnoea, enlargement of testis, dysentery etc. In observations, if these symptoms are produced due to some other disease conditions, are cure if the victim is affected with small-pox. That means without medicine small-pox cures these complaints.

**Observation of Leroy & Dezoteux: Small-pox produce violent opthalmia, sometimes causing blindness. By its inoculation cured chronic opthalmia permanently.

**Observation of Klein: An amaurosis of two years duration consequent on suppressed scald-head, was perfectly cured by it. Swelling of testicle even with violent character is cured by small pox as it has ability to reveal it.

**Observation of Dr. J. Fr. Closs: Small pox cause deafness & dyspnoea, and both these chronic diseases is removed on reaching its acme.

**Observation of Fr. Wendt: Dysenteric state of bowels is another symptom of small-pox. A patient with this trouble is subdued by appearing small-pox.

**Dr. J. Hunter observed that two fevers cannot co-exist together.

These are some examples of similar treatment which exist in nature.  But here is a question How Homoeopathic cure take place?

 The answer is that the two diseases (one is dynamic disease and another is artificial drug disease also known as homoeopathic medicine) are similar in nature but one is stronger and other is weaker. Due to similarity of their action the stronger (drug disease) one also acts on same location, same part of the body on same manner and reacts to each other. As, other is weaker so artificial drug disease able to repels the actions of weaker disease. Now, the human body is under the actions of artificial drug disease. As medicine (artificial drug disease) acts unconditionally, and its dose is under the control of Homoeopathic physician so, after a few days the artificial drug disease lost its power the vital force regains its energy and goes back to its healthy condition.

In 1831 in Germany, Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann cures the outbreak of Cholera epidemic by stronger similar homoeopathic remedy. He proper studied every cases of disease, justify every symptoms & select an appropriate homoeopathic remedy & established cure which intensify the successes of homoeopathy.
