THE HOMOEOPATHY
The peoples have been fighting disease since the beginning of creation. Over time, peoples are finding ways to cure the disease. The conception of disease has changed over going time.
In primitive times people thought disease was the curse of God. After passing time peoples are able to finds out the causation, course, nature, diagnosis, treatment method of disease.
There are
various medical practices in our world. Homoeopathy is one of them, which
generally known as alternative medical system of treatment. The conception of
Homoeopathy was first introduced to the world by a German physician Dr.
Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann in 1790. In those time he was an
Allopathic practitioner. He did not satisfy with medical treatment of that
time. In that time physicians were using some unlawful things or materials to
cure the patient. Without being cure they were got worsen the patient
condition. So, He avoid those treatment process.
Dr. Hahnemann was scholar about eleven language in his early age. He devoted himself to translator. While translating Dr. William Cullen’s materia medica he found that cinchona bark is useful to treat malaria fever. He logically thought about this. He studied about cinchona bark. Then he started to drank four drachms of cinchona bark juice two times in a day. After a few days the symptoms of malaria fever like, intermittent fever, loss of sensation, joints rigidity, feeling insensitivity all over the body, chill and shivering, thirsty feeling, palpitation and others symptoms are disclosed to him. Every time the paroxysm of fever fixed for two to three hours. After stop to drank juice he become relieves from his complaints.
Thus, he found the theory of “Likes cure
likes.” That means a substance which produce the symptoms over healthy
individual is ability to curing the symptoms on sick individual if symptoms are
agree with. For sure it he also proved several drugs upon himself and on his
relatives and established the similar system of treatment.
The principle of curing disease was
first introduced by the father of medical science Dr. Hippocrates. He had
treated patient on two basic methods. One is “Contraria, Contrariis, Curentur”
that means “dissimilar cures dissimilar” and other is “Similia, Similibus,
Curantur” that means “likes cure likes.” Dr. Hippocrates gave several
examples of similar treatment in his writings. Some of the examples are_
*** Cold things relax the cold stomach.
*** Vomiting can be stopped by emetics.
*** The dose of macrend tree juice causes
insanity, can also treat insanity in similar dose on minimum form.
*** Drinking hot water produce nausea also
treated the causes of nausea.
*** Bathing in hot water remove the fever heat,
etc.
On passing of
time, similar treatment methods lost it priority. It was Dr. Hahnemann who
discover this method of treatment and explained it by logic.
